The mock was conducted on April 9th using the standings at the time as our draft order. A lot of the picks were made on speculation in regards to which underclassmen are coming out and which are staying in school, so come back some time after April 27, the last day for underclassmen to declare and stay in the 2008 NBA draft.

Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors began as the Philadelphia Warriors of the Basketball Association of America. The team was relocated to San Francisco in 1962, but played home games in Oakland as well after the Oakland Coliseum Arena opened. The team name was changed to the Golden State Warriors for the 1971-72 season and that year they played almost all of their home games in Oakland.

2007 NBA All-Star Weekend

Indiana Pacers

Detroit Pistons
Founded as the Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons, playing in the National Basketball League (NBL). They got their name from Fred Zollner who manufactured car, truck, and locomotive pistons. In 1948, they joined the Basketball Association of America and into the NBA the following season. In 1957, Zollner moved the Pistons to Detroit to become more of a profitable franchise.
Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks' name comes from the TV show "Maverick", the character played by actor James Garner, who was an original team owner. The team had success relatively early in its history, but then fell into futility during the late 1980s through the 90s. However, they have turned it around recently even making their first NBA Finals in 2006.

Memphis Grizzlies
Originally located in Vancouver, the Grizzlies joined the NBA along with the Toronto Raptors for the 1995-96 season. The team moved to Memphis in 2001.
Washington Wizards
The Wizards started as the Chicago Packers in 1961, but changed their team name to the Zephyrs in 1962. At the end of the season, they moved to Baltimore, Maryland and became the Baltimore Bullets. In 1973, the team moved to Landover and became the Capital Bullets, then the Washington Bullets the next season. Due to the violent association, the mascot name was changed to the Wizards in 1995.
Charlotte Bobcats
The Charlotte Bobcats joined the league for the 2004-05 season, two years after the Hornets left Charlotte and relocated to New Orleans. In their first three seasons, they have improved from year-to-year, but also have placed fourth in the Southeast Division those same three years.
Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic entered the league as an expansion team debuting in the 1989-90 season, joining along with the Minnesota Timberwolves. In only their sixth season, the Magic made it to the NBA Finals, led by a much younger Shaquille O'Neal and Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway. Since then, it's been as up and down as any Disney World ride.
