The 2008 NBA All-Star Shooting Stars Competition takes place on Saturday, February 16th at New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, LA. The following players will represent an NBA city as a team for the top city (players listed by this order: NBA player, WNBA player, NBA legend):
- Detroit - Chauncey Billups, Swin Cash, Bill Laimbeer
- Chicago - Chris Duhon, Candice Dupree, B.J. Armstrong
- Phoenix - Amare Stoudemire, Cappie Pondexter, Eddie Johnson
- San Antonio - Tim Duncan, Becky Hammon, David Robinson
Detroit looks to defend their title and returns all three players that helped Detroit take it all home last year in Las Vegas. This year's other competitors sees two big men superstars in Stoudemire and Duncan trying to show off their perimeter skills. However, for Phoenix, they can count on Eddie Johnson to pick up any slack as he was well-known as a marksman from the outside. But the Admiral, David Robinson is not exactly known for hitting jumpers. Chicago also has a strong shooting NBA "legend" as Johnson in Armstrong, a well-known three-point shooter that helped the Bulls win multiple titles. But can Armstrong help Chicago win the Shooting Stars title? Good question... look for the answers on Saturday, February 16th.
