Favorite NBA Team: New Jersey Nets. I’m a lifelong Nets fan, and living proof that there actually were such things as Nets fans in the days before Jason Kidd.
Favorite College Team: Michigan Wolverines. I’m a Michigan alum and have been a die-hard UMich fan since I was 5 years old, but these are trying times. I would comfort myself with thoughts of the Fab Five, but as the record books show, they never actually existed.
High School Basketball? Really?: The ABCD camp used to take place less than a mile from where I lived, so I figured I’d check it out one year. As it happened, seven players from that camp were drafted straight from high school the next year, including some guy named Dwight Howard. After that, I was hooked.
Most Random NBA Feat Witnessed: I was in the house for Richard Jefferson’s first career triple double.
Most Impressive NBA Feat Witnessed: I was at a game where Matt Fish received playing time.
Most College Basketball Games Watched At Once: Seven. I reprogrammed the “favorite channels” on my remote so that I could cycle through the games with just one button. I’ve never been so close to achieving nirvana.
Favorite Basketball Hairdo: Afro.
Dunk I Would Like To See Performed In A Game: The NBA Jam dunk where the player does a midair somersault with fireworks trailing behind him.
Embarrassing Admission: My softball jersey number is 93 in honor of Ron Artest.
Biggest Complaint About Basketball: That MSG has stopped selling 64 ounce beers.
Most Famous Person I Offered A Beer From My 64 Ounce Mug: Chris Bosh, who was watching former high school teammate Daniel Horton in the NIT. Bosh declined, possibly because he was not 21 at the time (my bad).
Most Annoying Thing About The NBA: People who say “Deeeeeeeeetroiiiiiiitttttttt basssssketballlllllll.”
